Each time a new logging deck or location is being established an emergency action plan should be a part of the process.
This plan should include contact phone numbers for local emergency services (Rescue Squad, Fire, etc), directions to the work site (landmarks, road names, GPS Coordinates, etc.) as well as any information that is personal to you and your employees, such as medical conditions and/or allergies (stings, etc.).
Keep in mind that when an emergency occurs it's too late to find out that your employees have no idea how to get to your job site, or tell others how to find you.
Listed below are links to assist you in finding the information and a printable worksheet to document and place in the loader or service truck.
Ground Positioning System (GPS) Coordinates can mean the difference between life and death if an individual is injured and needs to be airlifted to medical care. If you don't have a GPS then using the link below allows you to find your location by zip code, street level or city and by moving your mouse curser over the map you can find the GPS coordinates for your tract.
Fire & Rescue - If possible always find the closest fire department or rescue squad to your jobsite or deck. Local emergency phone numbers can be found at the links listed below. Keep in mind that dialing 911 doesn't always work in rural areas.
